Two weeks have now passed since the birth of our son. We've allowed ourselves a lot of rest in the last few days, cuddled a lot and tried to sleep a lot - which didn't always work out so well :)
Of course, I tried to prepare myself as well as possible during pregnancy - to find the best possible equipment for our baby, in order to then make the time after the birth as practical, easy and beautiful as possible. After the birth, you quickly notice which products are practical and which are superfluous. The recommendations that I am now presenting to you relate to my very personal and own experience. So, let's go:
Recommendations as preparation for the birth and the time afterwards
I have two recommendations for you as good preparation during pregnancy that really come from the heart. On the one hand, I would like to recommend the " Becoming a Parent" course from dear Heike . I took part in the course without any expectations and felt so well taken care of as a pregnant woman. I have known Heike for some time and love her factual and loving way of mediation. She introduced us to great products, which is why I really avoided a lot of bad buys! In addition, she prepared us for topics in childbirth that you as an expectant mother simply do not have on your screen and that you are only confronted with after the birth. So take the time and invest in this wonderful preparation! Another tip from me is the book " The midwife consultation hour ". Shortly before the birth, I found it very exciting to read it and research the background.
What our baby needs at the changing table
We really enjoy using our changing table! We first had to test and develop the winding routine. Meanwhile, Dad, Mini and I are a well-rehearsed team. On the recommendation of the midwife, we stopped using wet wipes after a few days so as not to irritate the skin on the baby's bottom. That's why we can't imagine life without the following products: bowl of warm water, heat lamp over the changing table (the little one loves it - a must-have for me), at least two washcloths (we use one wet and one dry), oil and cream for irritated skin from the Bahnhof-Apotheke . In addition, the following things should not be missing from us: Dry facial tissues, a small brush, burp cloths, a towel, diaper pail and of course the diapers.
Baby equipment for the living room and bedroom
We decided on a Babybay Maxi side bed and are very satisfied with it. We found our little bed almost unused on Ebay classifieds and decided on a variant on wheels (very practical). I then bought a matching mattress and two covers for the bed. A must-have for us is also the CosyMe Sleeping bag. The little one feels very safe in it, the neck is supported and the sleeping bag is easy to care for. We have a second sleeping bag from Emma & Noah . It fits perfectly and is adjusted to our room temperature. We like to do that to fall asleep moonie rabbits at. We already have the feeling that the sounds have a calming effect and so far we have been able to fall asleep really well. In addition, we use the nursing pillow, two baby blankets and a night light that is not too bright in our bedroom a lot. In the living room, the little one very often lies in his nest. Here, too, he feels safe and likes to sleep often!
First equipment in the wardrobe
In the first two weeks we mainly had practical clothing in use. This includes three wool-silk bodies that I really wash up and down so that the little one can sleep in them too. We have a few other cotton bodies that can be completely unbuttoned, making them easy to put on. For warm legs and feet we love comfortable leggings with high or no cuffs and our mini socks in white and with green stripes . We also use theComfy Baby Sweater a lot. It's a bit big for a 14 day old baby and you have to roll up the sleeves, but the soft cotton material is so nice and comfortable and the button placket at the neck makes it really easy to get your head in and out. We also have an outdoor overall made of wool for our first walks and 1-2 hats.
A little tip for grandma & grandpa's first visit - we gave each of them a cup. So they had something to take home as a souvenir from their first visit to their grandson: Grandma cup , Grandpa cup
I want to reiterate that every baby is different and has different needs. I have personally had good experiences with the products mentioned and can recommend them to you. We have also created a checklist for you to check off the important baby essentials!
You can use this link to download and print out the checklist as a PDF -> CHECKLIST
I hope our checklist will help you to get an overview of what you need for your baby during pregnancy . But the most important thing is that you look forward to the arrival of the new family member and enjoy the time!
]]>Founding a family is the most beautiful thing in the world for many and at the same time brings with it many challenges. For this exciting time we have a few exciting tips for you from Heike vom Heede from the family institute.
Some time ago we announced the interview with Heike from the Family Institute on Instagram and gave you the opportunity to send us any questions you would like Heike to answer.
These included a great many interesting questions and we picked out the most popular questions and asked them to Heike.
First, Heike vom Heede from the Family Institute introduces herself and gives you a little insight into her everyday life, her company and explains why she loves her job so much. 🥰
H: I am a teacher, mother of two sons - and founder of the Heike vom Heede family institute in Düsseldorf.
For over 10 years I have been able to contribute and pass on my knowledge and experience in private family counseling. To you as a family – but also to my team. This is how a holistic and highly qualified counseling concept was created, which is constantly being further developed through intensive dialogue with parents and experts from all areas. This also includes ongoing training and the integration of new methods and approaches.
For me, the family institute is more than just a job – it is close to my heart.
Because the work here is as varied as life itself. Because it has so much to do with trust and further development. And because it's always about people. For me, there is nothing nicer than accompanying a young family on their way from pregnancy to baby gymnastics and the playgroup to private family counseling.
So that you are well prepared for the coming time, here are your questions:
1. Can you reach the Family Institute in an emergency with open questions? In case you don't have a midwife?
H: The family institute can be contacted at any time by phone or email. During the week, my employees are there for you from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., will answer your questions about our courses and put you in touch with our network and beyond.
Of course you can also contact us if you haven't found a midwife.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that our midwife will be able to give you an appointment, although they try very hard to accommodate you in their practice at our institute record.
Unfortunately, the current situation of midwives often does not allow this.
Heike is also trained as a birth attendant and can help you with advice and action in a birth preparation course and parenting course, with the exception of medical care. You also have the option of booking Heike for individual appointments.
2. How can I influence my child to have a good attitude towards healthy eating?
H: When it comes to nutrition, it is very important that you not only look at it - how do I feed my child?, but that you look at it yourself - how do we feed ourselves? What is important to me when it comes to nutrition, which nutrients do I take in in the morning, which at noon, etc.
Because the child wants to go to YOUR table! The first time, of course, you feed it with baby food that you prepare yourself so that your little darling gets to know the real flavors. So that's what Mama's broccoli tastes like!
The same goes for fruit. You can't prepare everything yourself if you want to use certain types of fruit that aren't available in winter.
It's important that you buy organically grown products and also pay attention to where it comes from. You parents have to realize that you are responsible for cell formation and organ formation in babies and small children
Don't give the children any sweetened or spiced porridge. A glass for on the go - that's ok! But also look carefully at which company you can use the product with a clear conscience.
A big wish of mine: don't get the children used to the Quetschies. One from time to time is ok, but we take the children away from eating and table culture.
Before you start complementary food, as parents, make yourself aware - how do we want to feed our child, how do we feed ourselves and what do we have table rules or not? and if so, what will they look like?
A nicely set table and meal breaks are equally important so that the children's appetite is there at mealtimes. You should be happy to eat what you offer your children yourself.
The book “Die kleine Löffelei” from KAWA Verlag is also a good read to start with complementary food.
3. Is swaddling good for the baby? If yes why?
Swaddling can help your little, newborn sweetheart so that it doesn't get startled by sudden noises and jolts and spread its arms and legs jerkily. It is often torn from its relaxation by the movement.
The swaddle or swaddle helps ensure that the child has felt the movement and that the little arms do not stretch out backwards.
Swaddling is a wonderful thing for newborns and in the first few weeks, but it must only be done on your back, not on your sides or on your stomach.
It is important that you have a midwife show you how to swaddle so that you can be sure that it is being used correctly. You should also get the OK from the pediatrician beforehand, since swaddling is still viewed critically by some.
Swaddling can be wonderful for crying babies, or even for children who have a hard time falling asleep. If your baby is relaxed and doesn't get scared easily, then you don't have to swaddle them. But for many babies, the jump from their tummy to our arm is so exciting that they are frightened by their own movement when laying down in their crib - and swaddling helps the children to fall asleep much more easily. VERY IMPORTANT: Always only with reinsurance of the specialists! We would like to thank Heike for the interesting and detailed answers and hope that you enjoyed the interview as much as we did.😊
If you love Reese's Butter Cups as much as we do, then we have the perfect recipe for you to make yourself! Inspired by dear Kaya Renz.

We know it's not just us, so we've collected a few DIY gift ideas that are not only super simple and creative, but you can also whip them up yourself without leaving home.
Whether for mom, grandpa, brother or aunt, there is guaranteed to be something for everyone with these DIY gifts!
Homemade Granola
Breakfast lovers are guaranteed to be delighted with a homemade crunchy muesli. You don't need much for the basic recipe:
-2 tsp coconut oil (alternatively rapeseed oil)
-2 tsp honey (alternatively maple syrup)
-100g oatmeal
For all the other ingredients, you can let your creativity run free, or rather, just take what's there. Kernels (e.g. sunflower or pumpkin seeds), seeds (e.g. chia or linseed), whole or chopped nuts, cinnamon - everything your heart desires and the kitchen has to offer.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Mix together the oatmeal, nuts and seeds. Let coconut oil become liquid (microwave, saucepan, water bath) and fold in, mix in honey. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread out. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn and bake a little more, depending on how "crisp" you want it to be.
After the granola has cooled down, you can refine it with other ingredients, such as dried fruit or pieces of chocolate.
Pour the homemade granola into small jars and put a pretty label on them - and you've got a super easy DIY Christmas present!
Make broken chocolate yourself
Homemade chocolate is a nice gift from the kitchen. As a topping, use what you have or what your loved ones like best, such as Smarties, colorful sprinkles, dried strawberries, mini marshmallows, nuts, brittle, ...
For the base you need:
-200g white chocolate
-200 g milk chocolate
Allow the chocolate to melt in a water bath. Pour the melted chocolate to the desired thickness onto a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Then sprinkle with the desired toppings.
Then, it is best to let the chocolate dry overnight. Lastly, break into large chunks and pack.

]]>Especially in the cold season, a healthy and balanced diet is very important, because a good supply of nutrients enables our body to fight pathogens optimally. The German Society for Nutrition recommends at least 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of fruit a day to provide the body with sufficient vitamins and minerals.
One of the most important and well-known vitamins for strengthening the immune system is vitamin C. Citrus fruits are considered the main suppliers of the vitamin, but there are also numerous other foods that are good sources of vitamin C: red peppers, broccoli, kiwi or apples, for example. Spinach, kale or Brussels sprouts also contain the vitamin and are therefore ideal for strengthening your immune system.
Important note: Vitamin C is not a panacea. With sufficient intake, however, it can minimize the duration of colds and susceptibility.
Particularly popular in autumn: the pumpkin. Not only as a decoration does it bring us joy and a good mood, but it is also suitable as a vitamin booster. The pulp is rich in magnesium, zinc, selenium and vitamin E. All important for a strong immune system.
Green cabbage is a real star in winter. Between October and February you can buy it fresh in almost every supermarket. A little tip: in order to preserve the valuable ingredients such as potassium, calcium, fiber and numerous vitamins, you should process the kale as gently as possible.
So off to the nearest supermarket and fill up your fridge with enough fruit and vegetables. Are you missing the perfect shopping bag for this? Not any longer longer! The shopping bag with the matching motto EAT YOUR GREENS is now available in our online shop. The bag is made from 80% recycled cotton, 20% recycled polyester and measures 49 x 37 cm - enough space for plenty of fruit and vegetables.

Whether cotton or viscose, each material has certain properties that must be taken into account in order to ensure that the fabrics remain durable and comfortable to wear. Proper care is the be-all and end-all. Everyone prefers to wear a freshly washed shirt that feels like new.
The information about what fabric your garment is made of can be found on the care label - next to a series of symbols that tell you how you should clean your garment and, most importantly, how not. Here is an overview of the materials used in our products:
Cotton is a strong, natural fiber that has been used for many thousands of years and is still the most commonly used in the textile industry today.
The material stands out due to the positive properties of breathability and a comfortable fit. Our fam vibes sweatshirts are made from cotton and sustainably dyed.
Viscose is a natural fiber made from natural raw materials (eucalyptus, pine and beech wood). The fibers are obtained from the raw material cellulose and are combined in a mixture of cotton and silk.
The viscose convinces with positive properties, such as the cooling feeling on the skin and the pleasant wearing comfort. At the same time, you notice how breathable the fabric is. Viscose owes its flowing look to silk. Our fam vibes blouses and dresses are made of viscose.
Both materials are easy to care for and easy to clean in the washing machine. It is important to us to use natural products both in the production and in the care of the textiles in order to protect nature. The online shop Kaëll from Düsseldorf has specialized in naturalness and sustainability. The range extends from biodegradable cleaners to detergents. The special thing about the products is that they are all free of parabens, synthetic dyes and phosphates. There are also no enzymes or fabric softeners included. A small drop is enough for one wash. Therefore, the products are not only efficient but also economical to use.
Cotton is easy to clean with Leine Weber detergent. It smells of jasmine and powdery sandalwood. Despite the gentle ingredients, the stains are removed and the luminosity of the colors is retained. Kaëll completely dispenses with aggressive ingredients in the products, which means that all products are particularly skin-friendly.
The Hautnah detergent is suitable for viscose. The formulation is mild and the natural ingredients ensure the luminosity of the colors. The detergent does not contain any brighteners, chlorine or fabric softeners and even manages to make roughened silk fibers shine again.
The miracle cure for wrinkles and creases in clothing and textiles is simply sprayed onto the affected area, pulled into shape and smoothed out. Once the affected area has dried, it is not only free of wrinkles and creases, but also gives the fabric a pleasantly gentle scent. Due to its size, wrinkle-free is a great replacement if you don't have an iron at hand.

Women's fashion and dresses – for many women, these belong together! No wonder, because hardly any other piece of clothing offers the opportunity for so many different looks for almost every occasion. Mothers in particular like to wear dresses. Here you can find out what you should look out for when buying and how your look can become an eye-catcher!
Clothes come in a wide variety of shapes and colors. A particularly beautiful look is the dress with flounced sleeves, which is the perfect companion at events: it makes you look stylish and self-confident without being overdressed.
If you are looking for a special model for the holiday season, the dress with flounced sleeves is also an excellent choice. Because here the fashionable, playful checked design is combined with nonchalance.
The great checked dress with ruffled sleeves from the Women's fashion dresses category can be worn not only at events or on beautiful Christmas days with the family. It is also the perfect look in everyday life and can be combined in a variety of ways to create a wide variety of looks. Whether casual with tights and boots or with high heels and trench coat. The dress from the category women's fashion dresses is always the best choice.
Basically, of course, you should always wear what you like! However, there are of course certain types of clothing that suit individual body types particularly well and best emphasize your assets. Here you can find out which clothes from fam vibes suit your body type.
The A-type is quite common among women and is characterized by narrow shoulders and broad hips as well as strong thighs. Like the eponymous letter A! With this body type, you create visual balance by focusing on the shoulders. This is achieved with exciting patterns in the area of the upper body and dresses that play loosely around the hips. Dresses with a heavily emphasized waist also cut a beautiful figure. Tight-fitting stretch and sheath dresses, on the other hand, do the A-type no favors and are unnecessarily bulky.
The V-type is basically the inverted A-type: these women have narrow, slender hips and pronounced shoulders. Proportions can be balanced here with asymmetrical dresses. The dresses can be exciting in the thigh area and puff out the hips with flounces, folds and ruffles. On the other hand, you should avoid puff sleeves and other accessories that emphasize the upper body.
O types are characterized by a generous bust size and a small waist. Weight is mainly gained on the stomach - arms and legs appear comparatively narrow! With this physique, you should make sure to create a waist. This works with wrap dresses and A-lines, but plunging necklines also create a beautiful figure. But the same applies here: shift dresses and stretchy dresses do not flatter the O-type.
H types look sporty in particular: here the shoulders, hips and waist are about the same width. To create more curves with this androgynous physique, you should reach for A-dresses and wrap dresses. These conjure up a great waist in no time! In contrast, you should therefore avoid boxy dresses.
Anyone who belongs to the X-types can be happy: Thanks to the narrow waist and the hips and shoulders that are about the same width, you can wear almost anything. With sheath dresses you flatter your curves in the right places, with V-necks, wrap dresses or A-lines you emphasize your assets even more clearly. Here you can let off some steam in fashion!
As a mother, you certainly appreciate a comfortable dress: Many models are comfortable enough for everyday use and still look chic. If you want to go with your little ones in a partner look, you can dress your daughter in the same model. You'll both be stylish and show the whole world that you belong together!
At fam vibes you can find the perfect partner outfit for you and your little one with just a few clicks. Here you can not only shop for a chic dress, but also styles from a wide variety of styles that support you in everyday life: The little daughter can romp and play carefree with the comfortable and light fabrics and you can easily keep up with the same style!
Today we start with dear Alexandra, who calls herself @settebello_hh on Instagram and on her blog Siebensonnen.de about many exciting topics reported.
